One of the main tasks of APET members is the supervision of Doctoral Dissertations and Master’s Theses. In some cases, Master's Theses are designed in APET as a practice for the PhD thesis. PhD-level research is too hard to embark on without preparation. The essential requirement of a Master's thesis is that it literally demonstrates mastery: students have fully understood the state of the art in their subfield and they are capable of operating at that level. Experimental work plays a key role in the PhD and Master’s theses. A well-equipped laboratory is available, offering the student excellent opportunities for constructing and testing prototypes of electronic systems and electric machines. Facilities for testing power electronic converters are also at students’ disposal.
